Event Description:
Our "official" program on Wednesday February 12th will be presented by Dr. Liliya Roberts, an accomplished clinician and program director. Professor Roberts’ presentation links health care management issues to metrics focused analysis of revenue recognition for stakeholders, including private companies as well as not for profit organizations, government agencies and citizens.
Please join us at the Largo Academic Center, Wednesday February 12th for an Italian buffet, networking, and our CPE sessions! Our speakers are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Complete schedule presented below.  Please join the discussion!

Professor Liliya Roberts, M.D. 
Program Director
UMGC Health Care Services Management Program
Liliya Roberts, building on her extensive career in healthcare administration and business consulting, currently serves as the Program Director for the UMGC Health Care Services Management Program. Her experience includes a specialization in memory care, senior care and experience managing retirement communities. Dr. Roberts focuses on strategic planning, financial management, compliance, staffing, marketing, and leadership.
Liliya Roberts was a licensed physician in Ukraine who graduated from National Medical University in Kyiv, Ukraine. After immigrating to the United States, she acquired a Master’s degree in Health Systems Management and became a licensed Assisted Living Facility Administrator. Under her leadership, the facilities she has managed have experienced significant increases in profitability, resident quality of life, and cost-efficiency. Another Master's in Learning Design and Technology from UMGC helps her in applying the management expertise and instructional design applications while leading the Global Health Services and Administration department at UMGC. She has a proven ability to transform organizations into highly competitive, compliant, collaborative, successful operations. She thrives on new challenges and builds strong and engaged collaborative teams and communities of practice. In her free time, Dr. Roberts has been working with Alzheimer's Association and serving as a Support Group Leader as well as conducting training for the new leaders.
Kathleen Sobieralski
Professor Sobieralski earned her B.S. in Accounting / Business Administration from Saint Mary's College (Notre Dame); an M.B.A from Indiana University (South Bend); and an M.S. in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. She completed the dissertation phase of her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Indiana State University and currently remains an A.B.D. She brings over 15 years of experience teaching and learning at a distance, and manages a curriculum of 30 courses in Accounting for the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Kathleen is a long time educator member of professional organizations including the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), American Accounting Association (AAA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), and a founding member of UMUC's IMA Student Chapter.
