Up until recently, talking about robotics would draw our minds to a distant future when "machines" would replace mundane or low-level skilled tasks. Well friends, if you haven't yet seen the memo, the future is NOW and MORE than just simple tasks are being performed by "machines."
Yow won't want to miss the exploration of how intelligent automation is impacting accountants and processes that we perform regularly. We will explore how these emerging technologies are impacting day-to-day operations, internal controls, efficiency and the overall accounting profession.

About Our Presenter
Joe Baptiste, CPA, MBA, CDFM 
EY Manager, Americas Government and Public Sector Consulting
Mr. Joe Baptiste is a Manager at Ernst & Young’s (EY) Government Public Sector (GPS) Consulting Practice with over 10 years of accounting and consulting experience. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Virginia and Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM). He has an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and completed his Undergraduate Accounting Degree at Old Dominion University. Joe has extensive experience in development and maintenance on various Automation platforms to include: Blue Prism, UiPath and MS Flow. His focus has been implementing scalable intelligent automation programs for Federal CFO’s and senior leadership.
 
During his career at EY, Joe has been intimately involved with expanding the awareness and building the capability of intelligent automation (IA) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) throughout the federal government and EY’s GPS practice. He is one of the EY Americas lead RPA facilitators and has trained over 200 internal resources and 20 client resources. He also leads the GPS Business Development and internal planning for IA/RPA for our clients. With his vast experience and understanding of both government and public accounting standards, policies and procedures, Joe was quickly fascinated by the game-changing technology that will impact the future of accounting.
 
Joe has led several automation projects supporting a wide range of implementation of Intelligent Automation (RPA, AI, Machine Learning and Other technologies).  He has supported multiple federal clients including: Housing and Urban Development, Department of Commerce, Veterans Business Administration, Marine Corps, and US Coast Guard to name a few. The primary focus has been on Financial Management, Financial Reporting and other related accounting processes.
 
Prior to joining EY, Joe spent four years supporting a Navy Audit Readiness engagement and the Navy’s Office of Financial Operations. In this role he supported the Navy by providing technical accounting knowledge in all areas of Government accounting and audit cycle. He also spent several years in Public Accounting and in Industry prior to moving into Government Financial Management.
